Access to Social Security, a Public Protector report on
an investigation into alleged improper conduct by government
during the privatisation of the Venda Pension Fund. The

Public Protector Adv Thuli Madonsela wishes to clarify that
the investigation into the Eastern Cape
Superintendent-General Adv Modidima Mannya is proceeding
with modifications. The Public Protector would like to put
on record that the investigation into allegations of
irregular appointment is the only part of the investigation
that she is no longer pursuing as a court of law is in a
process of making a determination on that matter. The Public
Protector Act prohibits the Public Protector from
scrutinizing court decisions. [read more]
