Public Protector Completes Report On Deputy President

The Public Protector, Mr Lawrence Mushwana, has completed his report on an investigation of an alleged breach of the Executive Ethics Code by the Deputy President, Mr J Zuma.

The report containing the findings was handed to President Mbeki on 12 October. In terms of the Executive Members� Ethics Act, the President must, within 14 days, table the report and his comments thereon in the National Assembly.

The office of the Public Protector will not make the findings of the report known until the President has reported to the National Assembly.
