Public Protector opens a workshop on government pension fund payout delays

Public Protector Adv Mabedle Lawrence Mushwana will deliver a keynote address at a civil pension payout systemic investigation workshop which will be held on 2 and 3 August 2007 in Pretoria.

The workshop, a culmination of a year-long investigation, brings together stakeholders including government departments, the Government Employees Pension Fund and investigators in the Public Protector�s office to look at the root causes of undue delays in the payment of resignation, retirement and death benefits to government employees and their dependants.
