Complaints Received: “Off The Record” Briefing

The office of the Public Protector confirms that two complaints
have been received relating to the “off the record” briefing by
the National Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr Bulelane Ngcuka,
to certain black editors.
Both complaints, received from Messrs V Mona, Editor of City
Press, and B Kebble, appear to fall within the extended mandate of
the Hefer Commission. These complaints, together with all relevant
documentation will be forwarded to the Secretary of the Hefer
Commission.
