Public Protector opens a workshop on
government pension fund payout delays

Public Protector Adv Mabedle Lawrence Mushwana will
deliver a keynote address at a civil pension payout systemic
investigation workshop which will be held on 2 and 3 August
2007 in Pretoria.
The workshop, a culmination of a year-long investigation,
brings together stakeholders including government
departments, the Government Employees Pension Fund and
investigators in the Public Protector’s office to look at
the root causes of undue delays in the payment of
resignation, retirement and death benefits to government
employees and their dependants.
Members of the media are invited to attend the opening
session on 2nd August at 08h45. Details are as follows:
